A GitLab connection pushes your Vexly secrets to a project’s CI/CD variables. It works on gitlab.com and self-managed GitLab.
Create a token
Either option works — both need the api scope:
- Personal access token — User settings → Access tokens.
- Project or group access token — a bot-user token that doesn’t take a license seat. See GitLab’s project access tokens. You’ll pick project or group scope when you add the connection.
Add the connection in Vexly
- Open Integrations in Vexly and pick GitLab under Browse integrations.
- Paste the token. For an access token, choose project or group scope.
- Click Save connection. Vexly verifies it with GitLab and stores it encrypted — the connection is reusable across every project in your workspace.
